Kanista Burl Live Edge Turning Blank

Kanista is a unique tropical species from Mexico. The tree produces an egg shaped fruit that is wonderful for the human immune system and vision. The wood is dense and the burl has beautiful grain patterns, figure and eyes. Checks, inclusions, voids, and live edges may be present and are not considered defects. This blank is mostly dry as it has been air drying for 3 years, though it may contain some residual moisture. This rare hardwood burl is ideal for small, fine woodworking articles such as knives, pens, jewelry boxes, wood bowls, and more. This piece has checks and inclusions. Please see pictures for details.
