Bolivian Rosewood Lumber Bookmatch

This material is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. It is very clean lumber and is ready for use now! You’ll enjoy the beautiful contrast in this great wood. Rich reddish browns with violet undertones. It is similar in appearance to the revered Brazilian Rosewood. A minor surface check, end check, or pin hole might be present. This is a nice bookmatch set! There are beautiful colors in both pieces. Both pieces are quarter sawn. This set can be used for base or electric guitar fingerboards, Ukeleles, etc. There is a 1" and 2" rough edge on the sapwood at the numbered end. There is a 4" hairline check on the back face.

Quartersawn Tasmanian Blackwood (Ukulele Sides)

Tasmanian Blackwood "Acacia melanoxylon" comes from New Zealand, Australia, and Tasmania. The colors are rich and warm, combining honey brown, black, and red. The wood has an intense three dimensional luminescence with chatoyant figure that is usually present in quarter sawn wood. It is very stable and easy to work. This is a high class wood that is worthy of many uses! It is very similar to Hawaiian Koa in color, density and acoustic properties. The tree has diameters of 20-30” and a height of 45-70’ tall. The bark is furrowed and is a dark brown / black color. Some minor end grain checks. Beautiful color and figure. Great tap tone. Good for Ukulele sides, etc. Great for knives, pistol grips, etc. Great billet for high end jewelry boxes, etc.
