Camatillo Book Match Set

Related to Brazilian Kingwood (Dalbergia caerensis), this beautiful Rosewood is rich with vivid purple & violet colors. Though related to Kingwood, the colors in this wood are more intense and the grain more demarcated. No two boards are alike; this is a very diverse and unique wood. Camatillo comes from Central America where it is selectively logged by hand and harvested from the forest by mules in an environmentally friendly manner. The grain in this wood is rarely straight and generally is figured. There is sapwood on most boards as the tree is relatively small, producing less heartwood than many Rosewoods. This extremely rare Rosewood species holds its purple color better than any other Rosewood. The size listed is the size of each piece . This item is two pieces. There is a split on the edged that falls outside of the template area. Carefully seasoned for over ten years. Also ideal for box top. USA ONLY.

Dalbergia Spruceana Acoustic Guitar Bridge Blank

Dalbergia spruciana is the closest known relative to Brazilian rosewood. A rare species worldwide that grows in the same Atlantic rainforest in Brazil as Brazilian rosewood, this wood is indistinguishable from Brazilian Rosewood except for the lack of distinct smell that Brazilian Rosewood has. The visual and tonal qualities are nearly identical. The most common use of this wood is for instruments, though it is used in many other applications as well. A direct relative to Brazilian Rosewood and shares many of the same properties. USA only. Quarter sawn with nice color. Has 5 checks/incursions, partial live edge with tapering width. Most of the defects are in or near the sapwood. Could be used for fingerboards or bridge blanks.

Machiche Acoustic Guitar Back Billet

Machiche is an excellent hardwood with deep browns, brick reds, and fine grain patterns. This makes the wood look somewhat like old growth Honduras Rosewood.  Though it is hard, the wood machines fairly easily, responding well to sharp cutters and also finishes well, bringing out beautiful highlights in the grain. Good sustain and crisp projection make this Central American hardwood a good choice for acoustical properties as well as dollar value. One pin hole near sapwood edge. Flat to rift sawn. Ribbon figure. Kiln dried and ready to use.
