Beefwood Bowl Blank (8" x 8" x 3")

INCLUDES 1 WOOD BLANK (several blanks are shown to indicate the range of color/grain to expect). Beefwood, Grevillea striata, is a very dense hardwood with coarse texture that mills well with sharp hand and power tools. It also glues well. Quartersawn grain shows beautiful flecks due to the large medullary rays that are present. Beefwood is a fairly rare wood even for Australian woodworkers. It is very rare in North America. Measurements may vary +/- 1/8". Shrinkage or minor checks may develop as this wood dries.
