Andiroba Lumber
Andiroba Lumber
Andiroba is a beautiful species that has many of the same characteristics as Brazilian Mahogany but is harder to obtain. The Brazilians use this wood for making furniture, cabinets, and flooring. The wood works easily and glues nicely. Colors tend to favor reds instead of goldens as in Brazilian Mahogany so the wood appears darker. There is generally a lot of iridescent shimmer in quarter sawn lumber. This wood is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. Boards over 36" may have a slight 1/8" bow or twist. A minor surface or end check may be present. This piece has planer skip and sticker stain. Please see pictures for details.
