Amboyna Burl Lumber
Amboyna Burl, Pterocarpus indicus, is the world's rarest and most expensive burl, possessing incredible colors and patterns. It was used for the first Rolls Royce's dashboards. It is moderately easy to work and takes a very smooth, high polish that makes projects absolutely outstanding! This wood has air dried for 12 years and is ready to use. It has been surfaced on two sides and may be shellac sealed. Live edges, inclusions, pin holes, voids, and minor checks may be present. This piece has a 1/16" twist, a partial live edge, checks, inclusions, and splits. Please see pictures for details.
