Silver Poplar Bowl Blank

Silver Poplar (Populus alba) is a lightweight, odorless hardwood prized for its smooth texture and easy workability. Similar to Aspen, it mills cleanly and takes finish beautifully. Renaissance artists, including Leonardo da Vinci, used it for painting panels. Today, it’s ideal for carving, turning, and decorative woodworking projects. This wood was freshly cut in September of 2025, wax sealed, and is ideal for twice turning as it contains moisture. This piece has inclusions and a partial live edge. Please see pictures for details.
