Figured Persimmon Lumber

American Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) is a dense, exceptionally hard and shock-resistant North American hardwood related to true ebony. Rated around 2,300 on the Janka hardness scale, it is prized for its strength, durability, and ability to withstand impact. Excellent for turning, tool handles, mallets, knife handles, pool cues, and other small specialty projects, this wood is hard, heavy, strong, and capable of taking a beautiful polish. This lumber is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. Live edges may be present, along with minor checks and pin holes. Boards over 30" may have a slight 1/16" to 1/8" bow or twist. A rare and versatile North American hardwood, Persimmon is a great choice when you want serious strength and character in your next project.
