Hopea Stone Burl Turning Square

This beautiful Southeast Asian Hopea Stone burl is very dense and takes an incredible polish when finished. The burl patterns in Hopea Stone look very similar to those of Amboyna burl with colors ranging between golden to orange/brown. An occasional check or inclusion may be present. This blank is surfaced on two sides, completely wax sealed, and contains some residual moisture. It has been air dried for 4-5 years. This hardwood will make incredible one-of-a-kind woodworking projects. This piece has checks, splits, and inclusions. Please see pictures for details.
