Argentine Osage Orange Bowl Blank

This beautiful South American species has lovely, vibrant color reminiscent of American Osage Orange. The pores in this durable wood are large and the grain is interlocked with fine to medium texture. Working properties are similar to domestic Osage Orange. This species can also be known as Fustic, which has historically been used in making dyes for fabrics. Argentine Osage Orange turns, stains, glues, and finishes well. Blanks have air dried for one year and contain residual moisture, so twice turning is recommended. They are completely wax sealed. This piece has inclusions. Please see pictures for details.
