Extra Fancy African Olive Live Edge Lumber
Extra Fancy African Olive Live Edge Lumber
African Wild Olivewood is a rare and dense hardwood from Southeastern Africa. For all practical purposes, this "tree" is no more than an overgrown shrub. It produces extremely dense wood that is oily and takes a wonderful, high natural polish. Patterns in this species are unique and lend themselves well to distinctive woodworking projects. African Olive is commonly used for turned items, tool handles, sculptures, boxes, and other fine articles. Live edges, checks, voids, and inclusions may be possible (please view photos). A 1/16" to 1/8" bow/twist may be present in boards over 24". This piece has planer skip. Please see pictures for details.
