Leopardwood, Roupala montana, is a medium to dense hardwood from Central and South America with somewhat coarse texture and unique patterns. Rich reddish brown color accents grayish colored flecks that resemble the spots of a leopard. Lopeardwood is wood is moderately difficult to work because of the density and possible tearout when planed, but it glues and finishes well. This exotic hardcwood yields high quality woodworking projects.
