Royal mahogany, or Andiroba, is a beautiful species that has many of the same characteristics as Brazilian Mahogany but is scarcer. The Brazilians use this wood for making furniture, cabinets, and flooring. The wood works easily and glues nicely. Colors tend to favor reds instead of goldens as in Brazilian Mahogany so the wood appears darker. There is generally lots of iridescence in quartered planks. Kiln dried and surfaced on two sides.
