Big Leaf Maple, Acer macrophylum, has excellent color variations that range from white to coral pink & light brown. No two blanks are the same. This is another reason that Maple is such a fun wood for those who seek a creative flare in their projects. These burls are exceptionally clean.

These are ideal for twice turning asthey will produce long shavings andvery little sawdust in theair. The bowl in the picture was turned green and did not show any appreciable movement after turning. The wood in this special will have small bark incursions that are normal for the species and are represented in the pictures. Rough edges and saw marks that will easily turn away are present on only a few blanks. This wood is a great value!
