Curly African Black Shedua
This is a rare batch of Curly Black Shedua that is ready to use in convenient sizes! Also known as Ovangkol or Amazique, this beautiful African hardwood has been used by several high end instrument companies Worldwide for many years now. It is noted for its good tonality, color, and reasonable price. From Equatorial West Africa, Shedua is still available in large logs. Darker colored pieces are similar to East Indian Rosewood’s hue. Golden colored pieces have iridescent shimmer and interlocked grain like Bubinga. In fact, Amazique is from the same family as Bubinga and shares many of the same traits. All of this kiln dried stock was cut from clean, high quality FAS grade lumber and is surfaced on two sides. The figured grade has curly figure over 75% or more; all boards of each grade have nice colors! This wood is a great value!
