Asian Pan burl grows in SE Asian countries. It is a large tree with heights up to 160 feet tall and diameters up to 5 feet.  Generally the tree is 90-110 feet tall and 2-3 feet in diameter. The wood color is usually a light pinkish red color in lumber. Burls tend to be a deep red color with more tannin present. Burls are not common and when found usually have large bark incursions and voids that must be worked with or around.  The wood is dense and light blunting on tools is expected.
