Collection: Verdecillo

Verdecillo is the common name for this wood in Southern Mexico. "Verde" is the Spanish word for the color green. Also called Mexican Greenheart. It is no relation to the green heart from Suriname. The wood is dense and closed grained, enabling the wood to take a glassy smooth polish without the use of a sanding sealer. Colors range from fluorescent lime green (sawdust) to leaf green, brown, and red. It is a fine wood which is suitable to use in fine articles, turning, and box construction. Our stock is logged by hand and hauled out of the mountains with mules.
