Edinam wood, Entandrophragma angolense, is a West African hardwood that can also be known as Tiama, Kalungi, Timbi, or Abenbegne. This beautiful, warm toned wood species combines red, pink & brown tones in a pleasing hue. It has a medium density with similar working properties to Mahogany. The tree can have large buttresses. It can grow to heights of 160 ft. with diameters at the stump of up to 15 ft. This wood is commonly used for furniture, joinery, and fine woodworking articles. It is also suitable for outdoor use. Quartersawn boards can have ribbon figure that adds beauty to any woodworking project.
