Quartersawn Cocobolo Lumber

This rare Cocobolo was imported in 2014 from Costa Rica with the proper CITES required documentation. It has been air dried and is mostly dry; however, there may be some residual moisture, especially in thicker pieces. Quarter sawn wood will suit instruments well! Other uses may include boxes, pen blanks, knife scales, intarsia, inlay, jewelry, and other fine, small projects. Large pieces may be used for furniture. Ends are typically wax sealed while some boards and blanks are completely wax sealed. The live edge has some checks/splits in the edge grain, that is about an 1-1/4" deep into the sapwood. Nice color contrast and tap tone. Would be great for ukuleles.

XF Myrtle Lumber (Ukulele)

This material is from a stunning, 4-1/2 ft. diameter log that was cut right here at our facility on the World’s largest Wood-Mizer during the summer of 2016. You can even see this being milled in one of our YouTube videos! There is deep, exquisite curl in many of the pieces. Stock is kiln dried and ready to use. Myrtlewood works extremely well. We have extra slabs available for tables, counters, etc. Please call to inquire about these additional products. An occasional surface check or pin hole may be present. When aged, this Myrtle will look very similar to Hawaiian Koa once it is exposed to UV light. This piece is quarter to rift sawn. This piece would be great for a ukulele.

Machiche

Machiche is an excellent hardwood with deep browns, brick reds, and fine grain patterns. This makes the wood look somewhat like old growth Honduras Rosewood. Though it is hard, the wood machines fairly easily, responding well to sharp cutters and also finishes well, bringing out beautiful highlights in the grain. Good sustain and crisp projection make this Central American hardwood a good choice for acoustical properties as well as dollar value. Kiln dried and ready to use! This is great for 2 foot lengths, or shorter, due to the 1/2" bow. Possibly use includes guitar sides or ukuleles.
