Collection: Ash, Modesto

Modesto Ash, Fraxinus velutina, is a species native to the SW United States and Northwestern reaches of Mexico. It is a relatively small deciduous tree with a height of only 40-50 ft. and a diameter of 1-3 ft. It is also known as Arizona Ash or Velvet Ash. Flaxen colors mix with darker mineral hues in the heartwood of older trees. Easy workability and nice finishing make this species a great choice for woodworking.
