The wood has rich brownish rust or purple brown colors with a reddish glow. It is stable when drying with very little degrade possible. The grain can be interocked which can produce ribbon figure when the wood is quartersawn. Angelique machines moderately well; carbide tips are recommended for best results in cutting.
