African Rosewood, or Bubinga, is a beautiful hardwood from Africa's West Coast. Though not a true Rosewood, it is denser than several Rosewoods. We offer Bubinga in special Pomelle, figured, and standard grain. A much overlooked tone wood, Bubinga is an up and coming instrument wood that has beautiful color and the possibility of prized figure. It is also highly sought after for furniture, boxes, and other fine woodworking applications. Colors are a unique combiation of red, violet, and brown tones. Bubinga has interlocked grain. It can be somewhat difficult to bend, but glues well. Sharp carbide tipped blades work exceptionally well for this species. Bubinga is one of the more easily worked dense exotic woods. Ships to USA only due to Cites regulations.
