Spalted Hackberry Lumber

Hackberry has closed grain and shows fine, intricate patterns upon close examination. This wood was cut from a unique tree with strong black irregular grain in the heartwood. It is not truly spalted as the name implies, but looks very similar to spalting in other species so this term is the most easily understood for describing the black veins that run through the wood. This lumber is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. It is free of checks and other defects. There may be a slight bow in boards over 36" long or a minor surface check. This high quality wood is brimming with possibilities! This piece has inclusions and bug holes. Please see pictures for details.
