The lighter is more of the traditional color, aged for approximately 50-100 years in a standing snag. Blanks have been surfaced on two sides and wax sealed on the ends. Blanks were cut from the snag in February 2021 and contain residual moisture which dries fairly quickly in this species. Since this Redwood is from old growth stock and has tight growth rings, it has great workability as well as fantastic mineral coloring! The wood cuts easily, turns well, and glues well.
