This salvaged Redwood is old growth stock that was on the forest floor for over 100 years. We feel privileged to bring you this reclaimed material for your projects! It has great workability as well as fantastic coloring. Although the logs have been cut for 100 years, they still contained moisture from their time on the damp forest floor. Because of this, cut wood is still considered freshly cut and will work best with the twice turning method. Some minor end checks may develop prior to turning. The wood has been planed on two sides and ends or full blank have been wax sealed. We know you will enjoy working this Pacific Northwest gem! Pieces with black coloring could have soft spalting and natural voids.
