Cut in the 1940's and stored in a barn until recently, this classic American wood is dry, surfaced on two sides and ready to use. You will notice that some boards have more black patina than others. This is just on the surface and will surface sand or plane away if you would like to remove it. These were cut over 70 years ago! Pieces have rough circle sawn edges. This would be a great piece for a mantel top or guitar! The numbered face has a 8" check 1/4" deep that starts 7" below the numbers. There are a few sap pockets, knots and miscellaneous checks throughout the board.
