Itauba Bowl Blank

This beautiful Itauba is from Eastern Brazil and has air dried for 1.5 years. Colors range from reds to browns with a combination of golden yellow. The wood turns well with sharp tools and takes a high natural polish that is glassy and smooth. Grain is generally interlocked, giving some three dimensional properties to quarter sawn faces. Pomelle figure may be present. Pin holes or minor end checks may exist in the sapwood. Blanks are fully wax sealed. Enjoy this South American beauty!
