Stunning golden shades with red undertones, brown hues, and black streaks combine with iridescence that truly set this hardwood apart. This lumber is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. Pieces with live edges generally will have checks in sapwood areas. Desert Ironwood is the densest North American and Northern Mexican species!
Desert Ironwood is one of our favorites for woodturning because it turns to a buttery-smooth finish! Stunning golden shades with red undertones, brown hues, and black streaks combine with iridescence that truly set this hardwood apart. Blanks have been well aged. They are dry and ready to use. Note that larger pieces (3” x 3” and larger) may have some residual moisture but should be mostly dry if not all of the way dry.
