Indian Ebony, Diospryus ebenum, is a jet black colored hardwood with light brown or reddish brown streaks. It does not have gray streaking that is common in Gabon or other Equatorial West Coast African Ebony; it is a closer color match to Madagascar Ebony's pure black. It is suitable for guitar and ukulele fingerboards and bridge blanks. Streaked Ebony boards have crisp defined lines that are visually stunning. This is one of the rarest Ebonies on the World market.
Dry and ready to use. Nice contrasting grain. Classic variegated lines through most sets. Nicely figured Ebony. Sharp color contrast between colors.
One scale is slightly thinner than the other.
