Figured Spalted Piquiarana Live Edge Slab

Piquiarana, a large, dense, South American hardwood, is ideally suited for a large table or bar top. Figured live edges add character and beauty to this unique species. This slab has been vacuum kiln dried and planed on two sides. There may be areas of minor planer hit/miss. Both faces contain inclusions. Drying checks and splits are present on both faces and ends. Specific gravity is 0.72, as compared to Walnut at 0.55, making this a very durable choice for a high traffic area. Enjoy creating a lovely project with this splendid South American beauty! Measures 86.5 Board Feet with an average width of 27.5". This piece has a 1/8" twist. There are checks on the faces, and there will also be inclusions present as well as surface and end checks and splits. Epoxy resin will be needed to fill checks and voids.
