16.0 lb|23-3/8" x 13-3/4" max. (down to 10") x 1-7/8"
Harvested in 2004, this log yielded lumber with great color and figure! The lumber is now dry and ready to use. Some of this would be suitable for instruments or high end jewelry boxes etc. There may be a minor check present but anything more than a minor check is listed below. A minor bow or cup of 1/8" or less may be present on some boards. This is a rare opportunity for some equilibrium dried Koa! There are numerous pin holes in the sapwood edge. The sapwood is not useable. There is a 10", 5", and 3" check on the back face at the square edge. Could easily yield acoustic guitar backs. This ships to the USA only. Incredible color and great figure!
This beautiful Hawaiian Koa has warm, rich colors with unrivaled iridescence and curl. An occasional bug hole or check might be present. Sapwood will have some pin holes. Some pieces might have a bow that lays flat with minimal pressure. Lumber is kiln dried and ready to use. Beautiful curly figure will vary from piece to piece. This is some of the finest color and figure we’ve seen in years. Saved from a stash that was cut in 1986, this Koa is a rare treasure!
