Bocote Turning Square (16" x 1-1/2" x 1-1/2")
INCLUDES 1 WOOD BLANK (several blanks are shown to indicate the range of color/grain to expect). Bocote is related to Ziricote and possesses some similar characteristics including black lines, density, and overall appearance. This Central American hardwood is more plentiful than Ziricote so the cost is 25-35% less. Blanks have beautiful color contrast between yellow, brown, and black hues. This blank is in the process of air drying and is wax sealed or wax sealed on ends. Residual moisture will be present. A minor check that will easily turn away may be present. The wood is exceptional to turn, with a natural silky smooth polish that is easily attainable. These Pre-Cut turning blanks are perfect for any project you have in mind!

Bocote is an intriguing species for woodworking because of the attractive variegation and patterns that are similar to Cocobolo. It has the same density as Cocobolo and is harvested using mules! Very few, if any defects are present in this stock. An occasional, minor surface check may be present or a check in the live edge. Boards longer than 3 ft. may have a slight bow or twist up to 1/16". This lumber is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. You won’t want to miss out on this exotic Mexican hardwood!
