It is native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. Trees grow to heights of 25-50 and crowns can spread from 35-50. Trees can grow in partial shade to full sun and prefer the sandy clay soils in the Yucatanof Mexicos Gulf Coast.Logs are small with 12-20 diameters average.
