This is also known as Louro Preto, and is the same species as Bocote, it just grows a little farther South. This piece has an interesting live edge that scoops into the wood. Would be a great conversation piece, home decor item, etc. There is a 20" end split with some end checks at the opposite end from the numbers. This is kiln dried and ready to use.

This Louro Preto is a unique and one of a kind species that originated from a cluster burl tree in Costa Rica that we salvaged. It had been dead standing for 20+ years. The majority of the sapwood has been naturally isolated and there are mineral streaks in the lumber. Some checks, cracks and live edges are present in some pieces and the burls all have checks and incursions. This is a great opportunity to own an uncommon hardwood! There will be an occassional bug hole, surface checks, incursions, and white areas that are soft. This has a nice cluster burl. One of the largest pieces of burl! Artistic uses would suit this piece well!
