This is a rare batch of Super Curl Black Shedua that is ready to use in convenient sizes! Also known as Ovangkol or Amazique, this beautiful African hardwood has been used by several high end instrument companies Worldwide for many years now. It is noted for its good tonality, color, and reasonable price. From Equatorial West Africa, Shedua is still available in large logs. Color is similar to East Indian Rosewood and the grain is interlocked like Bubinga. In fact, Shedua is from the same family as Bubinga and shares many of the same traits.
All of this kiln dried stock was cut from clean, high quality FAS grade lumber and is surfaced on two sides. All boards have nice color! This wood is a wonderful value. Many boards have great figure.
W29938: Numbered face has nice figure. There are a couple of end checks on the opposite end of the numbers. The back face has numerous checks that range between 1" and 5" in length. These checks appear to be about 1/4" deep. We are billing for 1-1/2" thickness.
