DETAILS

Pacific Yew is a dense wood that turns well and takes a buttery smooth, high natural polish. Rich orange color with a tint of red yields beautiful pens. Contrasting white sapwood is present in some blanks. The Yew tree is a small sub canopy species that grows in the Northwest on the rainy side of the state of Oregon. It is very similar in stature, wood color and density to an exotic species you would expect in Brazil but not Oregon! Difficulty: Beginner.
