Exotic Brazilian Ebony – Sale Price! Rare Species!

Brazilian Ebony is also known as Wamara, Montouchi, Panacoco, Saboarana, and Brazilian Brown Ebony. It is dense like a rosewood, with dark purple heart wood and pale yellow sapwood. Some boards have wonderful color bands and contrasting sapwood creating color mozaics that are rare and pleasing to the eye. Tree trunks of this species (Swartzia leiocalycina) are between 40-60' in length and 16-24" in diameter. Brazilian Ebony wood requires sharp tools but the beautiful colors and sheen it takes make it very worthwhile.  It is suitable for interior decorative work and fittings as well as cabinetwork, furniture making, flooring and paneling, inlay work, fancy boxes, and turnery.

The wood in this special is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides.  This is a very colorful unit of Brazilian Ebony that is sure to please! All lumber is FAS grade or better.  Only the best boards have been selected!
