We offer Bubinga in special Pomelle, figured, and standard. A much overlooked tone wood, Bubinga is an up and coming wood that has beautiful color and the possibility of prized figure. Colors range from reds, brown and violet tones. Interlocked grain is very similar to Amazique (which is in the same family as Bubinga). This wood can be a little bit difficult to bend. Kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. West Coast of Africa. 3-19-09-1A: numerous checks, good for small projects only. 3-19-09-1B: Nice figure, 2 checks on one face. 3-19-09-1C: Beautiful figure.

Juglans regia eminates from Circassia in the Cacausus and is the original Walnut of Europe. This tree was prized for its walnuts and was planted all throughout Europe and England. Color variations are due to the varied climates and soil conditions in which the trees grows. Juglans walnut is translated to “white walnut” so finding dark striping and marblecake figure is the rare exception. This wood has been prized for centuries for firearm stocks and fine furniture. It works and finishes much like American black walnut. 4B: 4″ end split, good marblecake for shotgun fore ends

Tieghemella heckelii. This African hardwood is also commonly known as African Cherry, yielding a finished product with rich pink & golden colors. It has a high silica content in it so it is not the best for machinability but it is worth the effort due to its beauty. One of the contributing factors to its often present mottled figure and chatoyant shimmer is its interlocked grain. There is some nice figure in this board! Packaged weight: 18. Due to the length, this item will be cut in half prior to shipping. Please call if you would like this item shipped uncut. Additional shipping charges will apply.
