Collection: Brasiletta

Brasiletta, Aspidosperma nitidum, is a small understory tree that has an incredibly flutted trunk. The bark is used for treating fevers and Malaria in the Amazon regions. The wood is very dense and strong and is often used in table bases and legs for furniture. It machines best with carbide cutting tools but takes a nice high polish. This hardwood is seldom available in lumber or turning blanks. It is medium in color with orangish undertones and hints of red and brown. This wood is only available in small sizes due to the small tree size.
