The Holy Grail of instrument woods, Brazilian Rosewood is the coveted hardwood by which all other tone woods in the World are judged. It is known for its sweet, fragrant aroma and incredible acoustical qualities. The rich, even color of Brazilian Rosewood can range from dark brown, brick red, orange, and even black. Rare on the World Market, this hardwood cannot be shipped outside of the USA. Our wood is cut from reclaimed stumps from trees that were cut in the 1960's and 1970's. This species is no longer available and once sold will be unavailable in the future. Our supply is nearly exhausted. These are special sets with the utmost quality and tap tone in all! Classic Brazilian Rosewood with CITES import papers! All are very old and dried to perfection! Please look at individual sets carefully as every set is unique and will have individual characteristics that may be challenging for some luthier's. Small pin holes are present in some and are considered normal for the species. USA only. Several small, microscopic pin holes. Beautiful grain. 1/4" split that penetrates to the other face where it is 1-3/4" long. This area needs to get glued or apoxyed. Really good tap tone. Both sides have a nearly identical incursion as the back. Side 1: 1" penetrating split on one face and 2" on the other side. Side 2 - 1/2" check in the same area. These do not affect the tonal quality of the wood. A great set if you can work with the imperfections.
