Emanating From Asia, this is a unique species that is slightly oily like Teak and has a similar musky smell. The wood ages to take on sunset like yellows, oranges, and darker shades with exposure. Excellent for inlay and intarsia, this wood is rare and in short supply. Surface checking on boards is common and needs to be worked with or around. We try to clean the boards up as best as possible so there is less fall off for customers. Sunset wood is truly beautiful in appearance, easy to turn and polishes well. |
