Asian satinwood is a beautiful, exotic hardwood that can have deep penetrating curl.  Originating from S. E. Asia, it is also called curly pyinma if it has curl on the US market.  This tree also produces un-figured stock that is used for cabinets, floors, and other projects in Asia.  Stable in service with darker colors than Eastern Maples.  Susceptible to surface checks and pin holes before drying.  Excellent for pool cues, knives, duck calls, and pen stock.

Rare wood with good colors! Commonly used for period furniture construction or repair. Flat sawn, S2S, kiln dried. 3/16" bow.
