The Eastern variety tends to have darker colors while the Congo variety has more oranges and yellows mimicking Brazilian tulip. Colors include reds, oranges, yellows, violet purples, and black. In Africa it is a favorite for carving animals, utensils, bowls, and other specialty articles. Dense with the ability to take a high natural polish.
