Pau Rosa

Origin: This African hardwood is from the Congo in West Africa.
Range: Available in lumber and waxed blocks.
It is lighter in color than the South African Pau Rosa, but is available in larger pieces.
Properties:  Very dense wood. Closed grain. It very closely resembles Brazilian Tulip.
In fact, it can be called African Tulip or African Rosewood. 
There is some shimmer or iridescence in the grain.
Machining: Moderate workability.
Finishing: Takes a good high natural polish.
