Dalbergia maritima is one of several Dalbergias that originate on the island of Madagascar. Perhaps the most beautiful when freshly machined and Beet red in color, this wood oxidizes to dark violet & black. The wood is dense and takes a very smooth glass like polish. It is a scarce wood that is only available in small boards or squares. Our stock is from the Late 90's when it was more readily available. All stock is dry and ready to use. Madagascar

Bright reds with darker streaks. Surfaced on two sides and air dried for 3 years. This is a rare board that is solid and does not have surface checking like most redheart. Easy to work with clean cutting and a high polish possible! A great exotic.
