Cinnamumum camphor.  A rare burl that is highly prized.  Unlike most highly figured burls camphor is very stable requiring very little special care in its conversion from large burls to cut blanks.  Most burls are very delicate requiring years of knowledge and experience to carefully cut and season.  Camphor is usually available in veneer form and occasionally blocks and squares.  We sell a lot of camphor for electric guitars as it makes a delightful top!  Smelling of root beer the fragrance is either loved or despised.  Most like the smell although it can be very strong with green stock.  Our stock is air dried for several years.  South east Asia
