Figured Bubinga Guitar Set African Rosewood or Bubinga, though not a true Rosewood is denser than several Rosewoods. This material is special Pomelle figured. A much overlooked tonewood, Bubinga is an up and coming tone wood that has beautiful color and the possibility of prized figure. Colors range from reds, brown and violet tones. Interlocked grain is very similar to Amazique (which is in the same family as Bubinga). This wood can be a little bit difficult to bend. This is the best value for a tonewood in addition to being very popular with custom builders. Wood is kiln dried and ready to use. Special Pomelle grade is also known as "Waterfall figure" . Figured Pomelle Grade, though beautiful, is not as intensely figured as Special Grade. This is a beautiful set with excellent figure! Kiln dried. Expect this set to be nearly flat with only some minor movement. 5 lbs.

Olive Originating in Europe, Olive (Oleo Europa) is available in thick slabs cut from large trunks in its native country of Europe. Root stock was successfully transplanted to California in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Orchard trees in California have been cultivated into shorter and more shrubby trees to ease mechanical harvesting of Olives, which does not allow for the production of larger trunks as in European Olive. As a result, the California variety produces incredible figure and crotch wood. The down side is that orchard trees generally have more reaction wood in them and consequently dry with substantial movement and checking if not properly cared for. We recommend the Italian lumber for furniture and the Californian for fine turned articles and small projects. This is the same olive that is sent from the "Holy land" It has just been grown and cultivated elsewere. We are always happy to assist you with any questions that you may have. 30A: Incredible burl eyes! 2" surface end check on one face. There are over 100 burl eyes on each face! Air dried for 2 years and wax sealed. 4 lbs. 30B: 3-1/2" check on one edge. Lots of burl eyes and wild figure! Air dried 2 years and wax sealed. 4 lbs.
