Afzelia zylocarpa.  Known as Makamong burl in South east Asia.  A beautiful burl that is rare on the World Market.  Similar in appearance to Amboyna burl Afzelia burl has more varied figure in burl form.  Incursions are normal for this species.  Pieces larger than 6" x 6" x 2" are considered large for the species.  South East Asia

This has been air dried for the last 7 years. Pin holes are present in the sapwood. South East Asia.
