English Sycamore 3 pack Platanus spp. The lumber has flesh - brown coloration with a tight silky figure present in quartered material. Distorting as it dries it is stable in service and is used for furniture, boxes, veneer, and fancy turned articles. Denser than many of the lightly colored woods it is a favorite for cutting boards and butcher blocks. England. There are several live edges and some other minor defects present.

Tulip Poplar Liriodendron tulipifera Commercial names also include: poplar, yellow poplar, tulip poplar, canoe wood, tulip tree, and whitewood. This is the largest tree in the Eastern US and is a dream for any sawmill as the logs are long and straight with little taper. Color ranges from white sapwood to green heartwood. We select lumber that has the most amount of green heartwood with contrasting creamy white sapwood. Stock is kiln dried and surfaced on two sides.

Red Cedar Thuya plicata Prized for centuries for its ease of splitting for boards and use in dugout canoes by native Americans. Red cedar is extensively for shingles, siding, musical instrument sound boards, and more. It is easy to split when free of knots and is very resistant to decay. Our cedar is from old split rail fences from the 40's or from old logs in Canada and Alaska. There is enough wood in this flitch to make 4 large ukulele tops.

Micro Lumber This is a nice assortment of micro lumber! Species include: olive, Claro walnut, Bocote myrtle, ash, Lacewood, myrtle, and Honduras rosewood. Several of these are surfaced on one or both sides. Dry and ready to use.

Tzalan 2 Pack A tropical wood found in many areas in Central America. It's trade names include: Tzalan, Caribbean walnut, tropical walnut and others. The tree is slender, seldom exceeding 20" in diameter with log lengths of 8-12' common. The best colored logs seem to grow on well draining limestone soil in eastern Mexico. The wood is slightly denser than mahogany and works and glues similar to red oak. Colors range from chocolate browns to tan with occasional black stripes. Some boards resemble Hawaiian Koa so closely that educated wood nuts can even be fooled! There is a slight 1/8" bow in the long piece.

Verdecillo A dense tropical wood with a green tint that is well suited for intarsia and more. Closed grain with good working properties. This is an overlooked exotic that is inexpensive that will be more popular soon. Southern Mexico

Sitka Spruce This was cut from a salvaged log that was 16' long x 8-1/2' in diameter! It was destined to be wood chips for japan and we couldn't let that happen! We have several of these huge quartersawn slabs available for purchase. Rustic with live edges and some knots. Great for bars, mantles, and table tops! Dry and ready to use!

Port Orford Cedar Called white cedar in Japan Port orford cedar has a large following in Asia. A great tone wood that is very stiff and resistant to splitting. This is a mostly quarter sawn board that has some run out at the other end. Air dried for 5 years and surfaced on two sides. There is a large knot that is visible in the pictures. Suitable for baritone and smaller ukuleles and guitar brace wood! Cut your own and save!

Port Orford Cedar & Red Cedar Port Orford Cedar is not a true Cedar; this prized wood is stiffer and lighter than Yellow Cedar. We cut or split saw our own right here at our facility, producing only the finest tops. Port Orford Cedar projects robust, quick tone that is ideal for Steel String & Classical guitars alike. It is not prone to splitting like other soundboards. Chamaecyparis lawsoniana.
